2026 Visit Penticton AGM – May 20th, 2026

In accordance with the Societies Act of British Columbia, the Annual General Meeting for the Travel Penticton Society, dba as Visit Penticton is called for  Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at 3:00 pm 

The meeting will take place at Elma Restaurant, 994 Lakeshore Drive W, Penticton BC.  All Visit Penticton Members in good standing are encouraged to attendPlease RSVP if you plan to attend

Call for Nominations – 4 Seats to be filled

Open Seats include:

  • Accommodation (50 or more rooms) – 2 – 2 year terms 2026 -2028
  • Accommodation (Less than 50 rooms) – 1- 2 year term 2026 – 2028; 1 – 1 year term 2026-2027

Only Voting Members of the Travel Penticton Society are eligible for nominations. Nominations must be emailed to admin@visitpenticton.com by no later than Thursday April 30th, 2026 at 12:00pm

Online voting will take place Monday, May 11th, 2026 – Monday May 18th, 2026.

Overview – Visit Penticton Board of Directors Responsibilities and Obligations

The purposes of the Travel Penticton Society are:

  1. to support and market the tourism destination of Penticton and surrounding area in a sustainable manner that strengthens the local economy and enriches the quality of life.
  2. to advise, approve and implement the overall marketing direction and strategies on broad tourism issues affecting
    Penticton and surrounding area; and
  3. to seek funding opportunities and manage funding for the support and marketing of tourism in Penticton and the surrounding area.

Board Composition

The Visit Penticton is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of up to eleven (11) Directors who are
elected by Visit Penticton’s Voting Members and three (3) Appointed Representatives.

The Visit Penticton Board is comprised of representation from the following sectors: Accommodations (6), Winery, Brewery, Distillery, Agritourism (1), Restaurants/Retail (1), Attractions/Arts & Culture (1), MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Events) (1) Member At Large (1).

Appointed representatives include the City of Penticton Representative (1) – Non-Voting, Penticton Chamber of Commerce Representative (1) – Non-Voting and the Penticton Indian Band Representative (1) – Voting

Attendance at TRAVEL Penticton’s Board Meetings

The most important obligation of your role as Director is attendance at regular meetings of the Board. Visit Penticton Board of Directors currently meets once per month on the third Wednesday of the month at 9:00 am, usually for no more than two hours (times/dates may be subject to change).

A Commitment of Time

In addition to regular meetings of the Board, a Director can expect to devote up to an additional two – six hours per month of time, depending on how engaged the Director wishes to become (for example, participating in committees of the Board or on the Board Executive).


*Definition of Voting Member for 2026 Election in accordance with the Travel Penticton Society Constitution & Bylaws

Voting Members shall be those members:

  1. a) who own or operate a tourist accommodation facility of four (4) or more units, collecting MRDT within Penticton and surrounding area**; OR
  2. b) who carry on tourist related business at an address located within Penticton and surrounding area and have paid their annual membership fee.

AND:

  1. c) who are in good standing with the Society.

** Penticton and surrounding area include the City of Penticton and Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen (RDOS) Areas D, E, I & the portion of Area F covering West Bench and Sage Mesa.
